Our Mission

Our mission at Pawrtners For Independence is to train and graduate service dogs for disabled individuals. The goal is to improve the quality of life of these disabled individuals, helping to gain back independence.

Koda

Megan Carothers, the founder of Pawrtners for Independence, started her journey as a service dog handler. Struggling with managing her health during school, she started training her dog Koda, tasks to mitigate symptoms. Just as quickly as Koda picked up the work, Megan picked up her passion for training.

Louis

Not long after, she trained Louis, a migraine-alert dog living in Minnesota. Megan hopes to grow her program to help as many disabled individuals as possible, understanding firsthand the quality of life improvement a service dog can make.
