Mobility assistance service dogs provide their handlers with either weight-bearing or non-weight-bearing tasks that their handler otherwise couldn't preform.
Weight-Bearing Mobility Tasks May Include:
- Some informal guide work*
- Counter balance
- Forward momentum pull
Non-Weight-Bearing Mobility Tasks May Include:
- Item retrievals
- Leading
- Opening doors
- Removing socks and jackets
